Gaffer tape is a strong type of water-resistant tape made of woven fabric with a plastic layer.
The tape is easy to tear and does not peel off any paint on removal (within 2 days), leaving no glue residue. Used to position / stick cables lying on the floor and to mark visible (making safe) stage edges so people do not trip.
